Why do I need an extra pitot?
A. If you are using a 4″ or 4 ½” Hose Monster you do not need one. If you are using the 2 ½” Hose Monster, a spare should be kept on hand. Sometimes in the middle of a flow test or pump test a piece of debris hits the built-in pitot and damages it. When this happens you do not want to have to take the rest of the day off. Instead, change out the damaged pitot with the spare that you keep on-hand. You will need the Pitot Changeout Kit (PCK) or 1/8″ hex wrench and few minutes. Save the old pitot. Contact us for a return authorization because the damaged pitot can be rebuilt at the factory for far less than the cost of the new pitot.
