We added this feature in for programmatic control of IIS 6.0 native compression via ZipEnable — and for those who love to use the command line in general. Software companies and organizations with the need can use this interface to programmatically control IIS 6.0 native compression with a few commands (much less work than writing your own code to interact with and manage IIS 6.0 metabase setting for compression — and you get browser compatibility as well).
