Why do I keep losing the email Im writing using WebMail?
There is an automatic logout on webmail. If the server detects no activity for a certain length of time, then the user is automatically logged out of the system. This is to protect your email and your privacy: if you were accidentally to leave yourself logged in after you had left the computer, then anyone can read your email, send emails in your name and abuse your account. The automatic log out time cannot be extended otherwise it becomes ineffective. Unfortunately whilst writing an email you are not actually talking directly to the server, and so the server thinks that you are no longer at the machine and it starts its countdown to logout. The length of the timeout is set to be suitably long to allow most people to write an email, but not so long that someone coming to the machine after you has time to do anything.
