Why do I keep getting the message “Administrative rights are required to apply these patches. Please contact the helpdesk at helpdesk@ucmerced.edu or 228-4357.”?

In order for you to run the tool and have the patch applied, you must have administrator privileges on your computer. If you are getting this message, it means you do not have administrator rights. At this time, you must call or email the IT Help Desk to run the tool for you.
