Why do I hear that Lesters purlin system is better?

While there is some design variability across different Lester building products, Lester’s standard Uni-Frame® purlin system starts with 2″ x 6″ members versus 2″ x 4″ pieces used by many others. The result is a truss/roof system with more strength and less “deflection.” The use of Southern Yellow Pine/Douglas Fir provides superior fastener holding strength and the flush (versus over the top of trusses) interlocking design improves truss bracing , excellent resistance to wind uplift and overall diaphragm strength. Other Lester buildings use alternative purlin systems.
