Why do I have to log in twice to the iTools Administration Server?
The reason why you must log in twice to the admin server is because it is protected two ways. The URL “http://yourhostname/itools_admin” is password protected because this URL starts the admin server. You would not want others to be able to start the admin server (which consumes system resources) to be activated when you did not want to use it. The Admin Server itself requires authentication. This is necessary so that the Admin Server is not accessible to the world when it is running — you wouldn’t want other changing sensitive server settings without your knowledge. The first challenge is from Apache, and the second challenge is from the Admin Server itself. Web browsers will remember the username/password combination for that session, and you will not be asked to authenticate yourself until you quit and restart the browser. If the admin server is already running, you can access it at the URL “http://yourhostname:84/”. In this case, you will only be required to authenticate yourself
