Why do I have to enter day/night landings in seperate fields?
This is the only way to positively identify your daytime and nighttime landing currency. It is dangerous to assume that just because a flight happened at night, or partially at night, that all landings logged for that flight happened at night. Will I lose logbook data if I stop displaying certain fields in my preferences? Absolutely not! Setting your viewing preferences is like a filter – all the data is still there, it’s just not all displayed. For example, If you no longer care to see your dual-received time when you view your logbook, you can set that field to “Not Displayed” in your user preferences and the data will still be there, it just won’t show up. Do I really need to logout each time? Strictly speaking, no. If you are on a shared computer, you’ll definitely want to log out every time to avoid someone else using your account, but if you have a private computer that is secure then you don’t need to.
