Why do I have to cut back vegetation on my property? What will happen if I dont?
Due to the great risk of large fires in the Oakland Hills, similar to the 1991 fire, all properties must minimize the risk of fires starting or spreading on their property with regular vegetation maintenance year-round. If you fail to properly manage your property, you will be fined and City contactors will perform vegetation maintenance on your property at your expense.
