Why do I have so much trouble working with text in CASmate?
Many of the problems with text can be directly related to the number of fonts loaded on the system. CASmate has a limit of 1000 fonts that it can access. This is not to say that if you load an amount greater than 1000, you will not be able to use text in CASmate. However, once you surpass that threshold, generally you begin to see problems. Keep in mind that the program loads with as many as 700 Scanvec-supplied fonts, so that leaves less than 300 that you can load from Corel, or other third parties without the potential to encounter problems. Specific problems can include an inability to scroll through all fonts, program instability in Text Mode, and a dramatic slowdown of program launch and various text functions.
