Why do I get:Warning: no access to tty?

0

Users whose login shell is tcsh should ignore the messages: Warning: no access to tty (Bad file descriptor). Thus no job control in this shell. This is a well known ‘feature’ of tcsh which occurs when a login tcsh is started in batch. The warning would be relatively easy to suppress (by modifying tcsh and recompiling) but the additional system maintenance is not considerd worthwhile.
