Why do I get see really weird artifacting on in game textures?
Firstly you need to make sure you have a supported video card and are using the latest *supported* video drivers: http://planetside.station.sony.com/support/tech_support/video_cards.jsp Note that the latest *supported* drivers might not the latest avalible drivers. Many users run the latest drivers with no problems (it can even improve performance) but if your having problems you should uninstall your drivers, reboot, then re-install the latest *supported* drivers. This doesn’t usually help with crashes but it often helps with texture problems. Note that ATI users should turn Anisotropic Filtering OFF (or Application Preference) in their display preferences, otherwise you will see ‘banding’ in game on ground textures (this is an acknowledged issue). ATI users should also note there are some corrupt texture issues on some cards with certain driver releases. Apparently these are being addressed/investigated, until then try alternative driver releases.
