Why do I get an error beginning with “org.eclipse.swt.SWTError: Font not valid” on startup?

This error occurs if a recognized font cannot be resolved at startup time. The scenario where this has been observed to sometimes happen is when accessing a remote machine via Reflection X. This situation can be made to work by changing some settings in Reflection X. For information about how to do this see bug 33828.
