There are two versions of Windows 98. The original version of Windows 98 (often called Windows 98 Gold) uses the same type of drivers as Windows 95. Windows 98 Second Edition (often called Windows 98 SE) uses the same type of drivers as newer Windows operating systems such as Windows XP.
