Why do governments around the world refuse to legislate against pollution?

The answer is MONEY! The answer to everything that makes no sense is MONEY. Why do we not legislate against pollution? There is too much money to be lost. Why do we do nothing about health care for everyone? There’s too much money to be invested. Why do we do nothing about American, et al, jobs going overseas? More profits to be made. Why do we cling to foriegn oil? More profit in the short term. Why do we not embrace new clean energy technology? Not enough profit in the short term. It’s MONEY. It’s always been MONEY. Don’t think it’s anything else.
