Why do gay people support Barack Obama when hes big friends with Donnie McClurkin?
I don’t support Obama, or, truthfully, anyone. I think it’s funny when people talk about which candidates don’t support gay rights or won’t come out and say all the things the average GLBT person would like to hear, because we have to get real–none of them support gay rights, or at least not the ones who have a chance of winning. It doesn’t matter the political affiliation or what they say. I don’t think that means we shouldn’t vote for someone. I think of it this way, and I invite others to, as well, as I think this would be most helpful for GLBTs and other minority groups: No one’s going to fight for us right now, so I’m looking at which political group would hurt us most if they were in office–Republicans or Democrats. I don’t like either group. However, I feel that Republicans would try to enact legislation and/or amend legislation (such as the Constitution) in ways that would hurt GLBTs. On the other hand, I think any Democrat would pay lip service to supporting GLBTs just to ge
