Why do fundamentalist insist on taking Genesis and the whole rest of the bible literally?

You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately, the “Fundamentalist Sector” (Far Right Wing) of Christianity is filled with “Scriptural Literal-Literalists”, also called “Legalists”, who insist that the Bible should be interpreted literally and at face (surface) value, though in the same breath they properly interpret Revelation symbolically (as it should be), thus revealing their particular hypocrisy. If they only knew that even the account of Adam and Eve should also be interpreted “symbolically” and NOT “literally”, then they would know God’s TRUTH, that Adam is a symbol for “the man that fell”, being our paternal star Sirius B (Osiris), which was originally a Blue Supergiant (B-1 class star about 5 times the mass of our Sun)… and Eve, “the woman” (Isis: meaning “the woman”) who was “born out of the side of the man”, is the star Sirius A, having been ejected out of the side of Sirius B when Sirius B received a cometary impact (Comet Metis: meaning “Knowledge”), which he “swallowed”… this

You are apparently very poorly educated about what it means to interpret something literally. When interpreting literally, one should understand the face value to be the intended meaning unless otherwise stated. There is nothing in the book of Genesis that indicates that it should be taken figuratively, especially when Jesus said that Adam was “in the beginning” (Matt. 19). On the other hand, the Revelation of Jesus Christ is filled with symbolism. We know this because the text gives meanings for the symbols and tells what they mean. Examples: Revelation 17:7 (KJV) 7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. Revelation 17:9 (KJV) 9 …The seven heads are… Revelation 17:12 (KJV) 12 …the ten horns which thou sawest are… To interpret something literally means that you interpret it as you would any type of literature. It doesn’t mean that you disgard
