Question: Train tickets are indeed the same price for all, BUT the way the Chinese authorities get round that annoying situation is to demand that all foreigners get a permit to enter Tibet AND THAT COSTS RMB 100 !! Answer: There you are,Yes the permit does cost that much,please bear this in mind that Tibet as compared to the rest of China is still considered to be an underdeveloped area and this tax or levy is used for the betterment of Tibet and it’s people.I feel there is no harm in contributing for this cause.
