Why do footballers spit?
My fiance used to dip, along with all his team mates, while he played. That’s probably what they’re doing. The nicotine gets your blood pumping and increases adrenalin, which would help them run faster and longer. And they can’t smoke for nicotine, because then they cant’ breathe. It’s dip. Do you know what that is? You put it between your lip and bottom teeth, and spit it out. You can’t swallow when you have it in there. Baseball players do this a LOT. Also, footballers are extremely active and sweat a LOT. The sweat can run down their face and into their mouth, and the salt will dehydrate them, so they spit it out. The spit also does get thicker with dehydration so they spit that out, too. (I asked my fiance last night and he told me this. He used to play.) Those other people who don’t spit that you mentioned don’t exert as much energy as footballers who are constantly running.
