Why do fire engines respond to medical emergencies?
All Riverside County Department firefighters are trained to handle medical emergencies. In most areas, paramedics are assigned to the engines. The fire department will be able to get to your location faster than private ambulances, so our arrival provides emergency medical care sooner — and during medical emergencies, time is the most important factor.
