Why do feminists see women as inferior and think others view women the same way they do?
You start your question with a false assumption – that feminists see women as inferior. I could point out what happens when you assume, but that would be akin to shooting goldfish in a barrel. Feminists believe simply this:
1) Equal pay for equal work
2) Equal opportunity for women to excel at any profession which they choose
3) Equal opportunity for quality education for both men and women
Based on those core beliefs, it’s difficult to imagine that any thoughtful, fair-minded person would not be a feminist. Certainly there are extremists that may stray from these core beliefs, just as there are extremists who believe women should be barefoot and pregnant or believe that any woman who voices her opinion is a "feminazi." Certainly there is enough stupidity to spread around equally on the left as well as the right. The problem is that the term "feminism" has suffered from being bastardized by moronic right wing talk show hosts. If you ask most people if they believe in the core ideals of feminism, without mentioning the word itself, they would agree.
Mostly feminists don’t *openly* look down on other women, and that’s because feminism relies on recruiting normal women in order to ‘make up the numbers’ i.e. take feminism out of the status of a minority interest group. Without normal women being hoodwinked into saying they support feminism, I estimate that the feminist movement would make up about 4-5% of the female population. Examples of this: if you don’t take maternity leave, are you a “traitor of women’s rights” http://www.franceinlondon.co.uk/en-Artic… Or “Women who sleep with men are traitors to their gender” http://www.thelocal.se/2065/20050912/ Feminists really don’t respect normal women at all, and sometimes this leaks out.
