i guess that want to make a statement and stand out, sometimes they where some of their own more extreme designs to show off their own work etc. Not all designers wear wierd clothes though- ive never seen stella mcCartney wearing anything totally stange, but vivienne westwood is always wearing really wierd clothes, although- i love her designs! maybe its because designers usually have quite individual and creative personalities- so their clothes reflect that!
