By external examination and after investigation, structural anomalies inside human body are not always evident. When a laparoscope is introduced into the body these anomalies become visible. Occasionally due to complicated situation, endoscopic surgery may have to be converted into conventional open surgery and hence, as per law, consent for conventional open surgery has to be obtained before attempting endoscopic surgery for patient’s safety.
