Why do divers shower right after a dive?
To maintain their flexibility. The water is warm so it helps keep the muscles warm and loose. The pool they dive into is most likely the same temperature as the pool the swimmers compete in. Swimmers swim in water that is much colder than a diver would prefer. Divers are also in and out of the water more frequently that swimmers so their bodies notice all the temperature changes, from dry to cold & wet to warm, to dry and all over again.
