Why do different schools pay different salaries (for instance, 3000 – 8000 Yuan) per month for the same work?
Please don’t assume that this is unfairness. Sometimes schools may require different workloads or provide different benefits. Some schools may require more than 20 hours a week while others require only 14-16. In addition, if you work beyond the length of your contract, the school may pay you a subsidiary of 50-120 Yuan. In this case, your salary may even be higher than your agreement states. In China, usually state-owned schools pay a smaller salary than private schools, however state-owned schools most often provide their workers with free room and board, plus paid-vacation and travel tickets. Private schools most often offer very few perks.
