Why do different instructors teach a move slightly differently?
The difference in how instructors teach is a part of life. We are all different and individuals. Different instructors will have different styles of teaching as they do in the way they communicate. Also instructors will try to teach depending on their perceived level of the students in the class. This is only fair to all students. The consistency of what instructors teach is more addressable and is looked into by the TTCS Instructor Commitee Council (ICC). The ICC ensure that all instructors can demonstrate a certain level of Tai Chi and have attended a number of instructor workshops per year. As a student, it is always best to learn moves as if learning it for the first time and we should try to help each other. We should learn, learn to learn, learn to understand and apply. For each move we should think what the benefits are and how it affects us. Learning from many instructors can only be good in helping us broaden our perspectives on each move. Just try to attend as many classes, i
