Piercing connectors (aka: Clip and Go) are vulnerable to incorrect installation (improper piercing) and/or long-term oxidation resulting in loss of performance. Wire nuts have better long-term reliability than insulation piercing connectors and are commonly used in professionally installed electrical systems.
