Why do creationists use pseudo-scientific facts to try to demolish science?
Desperation when faced with evidence that their beliefs are rubbish. It’s also becoming more acceptable to be an atheist- we don’t have to worry as much about being beaten up in the streets by angry christian mobs and having the courts throw the case out.Because of these 2 factors their house of cards is under attack and it freaks them out. So they try to say that God and science are compatible or that the bible really meant that the earth was created in 7 billion years and not 7 days and that ‘created from dust’ really means evolved from viruses and so on. It’s kind of sad really – I prefer the Bible is Absolutely Literally True set (for the science part of the whole equation ) b/c at least they’re sticking to their guns but I prefer the Bible is a Metaphor crowd for not being socially repugnant ( they tend to be the ones not hating gays for example ).
