Because some religious people somehow convince themselves that science and religion are in any way compatible, which they obviously aren’t. Religion was only really of any great use when we didn’t live in a world based around scientific knowledge, and people didn’t understand things that they really needed to explain. Some religious groups still won’t take medicine, etc. and prefer to rely on god and die instead.
