Why do creationists make up arguments that scientists never make?
Because they get their information from other creationists, under the mistaken impression that religious apologists know more about science that scientists do. At best, most will go no further than popular misunderstandings. Those few creationists who actually read scientific documents either misunderstand what they read, or lie about it (quote mining, etc.).
