Throughout most of the 20th century, a college degree was perceived as the ticket to a better life. As a result, parents sought to provide their children with the tools they needed to enter and ultimately finish college. In today’s global economy, however, simply graduating from college cannot guarantee the opportunities it once did, because record numbers of people are earning college degrees.
