The same reason any one using their philosophy to back up their theory post quotes from any well known philosopher who had the same ideals! For Christians, theirs just largely being the philosophy of the world and it’s workings that was compiled to make The Holy Bible, the Church didn’t agree with the WHOLE Bible, so they burned/burnt what of it they disagreed with, they later did the same to many philosopher for thousands of years, from Kant to Francis Bacon, Nietzsche to Crowley, etc. and believe it or not, book burnings still go on today!
