Why do Christian conservatives support capitalism when it is against Christian principles?
As a Christian that idea isn’t in my Bible. Please help me out as to where I can find it. I always thought the Bible said that a worker is worth his wages and that a man should be honest when doing business. The Bible does say the love of money is the root of all evil but that is not saying that capitalism is wrong.
circumstance. We here in America by majority are Christian, but stand on capitalism, but the truth is they aren’t opposites. I can earn more than a neighbor or competitor and still support charities and fulfill my Christian obligations. There is a biblical quote,”it’s easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than a rich man to go to heaven.” But that’s because the camel is thinner without moneybags on it’s sides. That’s where donation comes in. Long story short, give to the needy, not your competition.
Capitalism is not anti christian. It is a natural system where if I have something you want & you have something I want, we basically trade. And supply & demand determings how that trade will happen. If I need leaves for my compost pile, I will not trade my computer for them because I can get leaves at so many other places. But capitalism does not mean I might not make a gift of my computer if someone realy needs it. Just go to goodwill. People donate things all the time when they could make money off them. But they would rather good be done with the products.
