Wikipublisher recognises “straight quotes” and automatically smartens then into the correct HTML “curly quote” character entities. However, if you copy and paste text from another program, such as a word processor, and it contains special characters, these may not be displayed correctly in the PDF. If you need to use Unicode characters, ask your administrator to set the template character encoding variable, $XMLEncodingFmt, to ‘utf-8’.
