Why do certified elevator inspectors have to buy or be covered by liability insurance?
Section 399.17, Florida Statutes, states “Each certified elevator inspector must annually register with the division and provide… proof of general liability insurance coverage in the minimum amounts established by the division.” The bureau interprets “proof of general liability insurance coverage” to mean having insurance coverage, either individually or through a company.
