They don’t need them. My sister had a tailless cat, so did our neighbor. Those cats were perfectly normal. While it doesn’t seem to me that they NEED them, I have noticed that they use them to lure or taunt other cats. I’ve wondered if that is a natural thing to lure prey, if they were wild.
