Why do cast bars have imperfections, scratches and abrasions?
As cast bars are used for investment purposes it does not need much refining. As its taken directly from a cast, it will have the above mentioned imperfections. As an investor you need to remember that the value of a cast bar mainly depends on the Refiner who manufactures them. Therefore, make sure before buying a cast bar that the refiner who refined them is an approved Good Delivery Refiner of the London Bullion Market Association.
