Speaking as an African American woman, I want to start by saying that nothing is “wrong” with the hair that we are born with, and that contrary to popular belief, African American women are not the only women who wear weaves. Weaves also known as synthetic hair have been worn in ALL cultures, including Caucasians. Even such famous Caucasian celebrities as Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani, have been known to wear synthetic hair. You can also reference Americas Next Top Model, where you will see that most of the models at one point wear synthetic hair. So I believe I have stated enough information above to change your question to “Why do women wear weaves” so to answer that question, it could stem from a number of things, if not cared for properly, a woman’s ends can easily break, which means there is not too much length in the hair. most black women i know have really short hair and they would rather have long hair so that’s why, same reason why anybody with long hair would have their hair cut really, and also white women with short hair do the same it’s not just because they’re black

I could see if they had cancer it is ok BUT if you don’t that is just sorry some wear them cause they want to be white when they ain’t some wear them cause they are to lazy to do their hair
