Why do Big Nasty, Nala, and Kitty look different around Squaresoft characters?

After playing the game Kingdom Hearts, I rather enjoyed how the Squaresoft characters got remodled for that game. So I (just like countless others artists, I’m sure) decided to do the same for Big Nasty, Nala, and Kitty. Since they were Kingdom Hearts tributes, I gave them Keyblades of their own. Hence, The Keyblade Three was born. Also, since they were Kingdom Hearts tributes, I decided to change their looks whenever invovled in a volley shot that invovled Squaresoft. Seemed natural.
