Why do Best-ofs — why not do entire seasons?
There are many possible reasons why complete seasons are not possible. Often, as with The Best Of The Electric Company, the masters don’t exist for all episodes. Sometimes, as with SCTV: Best Of The Early Years, it’s impossible to license the music used in certain episodes. Sometimes, like with The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet, it’s just too many seasons (14) with too many episodes (435 total) to release them all.
