Why do batteries have letter names, like Double AA, Triple AAA, C, D, etc?
To distinguish them from each other. Most batteries (AA, AAA, C, D) all carry the same voltage, 1.5 volts, but they differ in their capacities, their physical size. I’m not an electrical engineer so I can’t tell you more. If you want/need more voltage you’d have to go with a 6 volt ‘lantern’ battery or a 9 volt, just don’t lick both terminals on either of them or you’ll electrocute your tongue.
