Why Do Battered Women Stay?
kind of an A-hole, but didn’t realize how bad he was until my wife was talking to her on the phone one day and he walks into the room and starts yelling at her. Next thing we know the phone goes dead. My wife tried to call “Sarah” back for 10 minutes and was finally able to get hold of her. Her friend was crying and said “Dan” had grabbed her next and threw her against the wall. And get this….she was eight months pregnant. Needless to say I called the cops and reported him. I also called his chain of command as a fellow service member and reported him to his superiors as well. I found out his chain of command just gave him a stern talk and nothing else. That really disappointed me. The cops showed up, but didn’t do much either because “Sarah” was too afraid to say anything. Anyway, “Dan” settled down after that incident because he knew I would either keep calling the cops on him or take care of it in person.
