Why do applications that use eMbedded Visual Basic or ADOCE fail on Windows Mobile 2003-based devices?

0

With Windows Mobile 2003-based devices, ADOCE and the eMbedded Visual Basic runtime are no longer included in ROM. They can be installed, downloaded, and installed manually. Please note though that developing code by using eMbedded Visual Basic on 2003 is not supported; it is simply provided to allow customers to run Pocket PC 2002 applications unmodified on 2003. Download eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime for Pocket PC 2003. An alternative is to port your application to NS Basic/CE. It supports Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 2003, as well as many other versions of Windows CE. NS Basic/CE is highly compatible with eVB and continues to be supported and enhanced. For a comparison of eVB and NSB, see this comparison . For information on converting eVB to NS Basic/CE, see this Tech Note .
