Why do anti-universal healthcare Americains seem so greedy and self absorbed?
I do not think greed is the reason people dislike universal healthcare. You work hard for your money as do many other Americans. Most do not want to be forced to give their money away, but would rather have the choice to contribute. Universal health care lead to other social programs. Our society is a capitalist economy, therefore you have the same opportunity as the next to increase your salary through hard work. In a socialist society everybody has the same, so there are no incentives to do anything. They say a socialist economy promotes economic equality, where everyone has the same amount of everything. But you work for the government and you can never own your own company unless you are producing something for all americans and the government will be your boss. So eventually everyone would be broke and the government would really be rich and greedy. You really need to start paying attention to all sides of the story and not what Jon Stewart tells you. Some people are against this healthcare reform because they feel the federal government can not regulate intrastate commerce and forcing people to buy insurance is unconstitutional. It really has nothing to do with heartless people but rather what mandates the federal government should be allowed to hand down upon its people.
