Why do an acoustic tour instead of canceling the band’s tour outright?
We did cancel the tour, to be honest. But we weren’t content with just sitting at home doing nothing. I wanted to get out there with an acoustic guitar and run a sort of plan B, I guess. This isn’t the official makeup for the tour that we canceled. We’re starting that in late February. As with all things in life, you make the best of what you got. I did a warmup show here last night, and it’s hot, sweaty fun. It’s rock and rolly. Are you excited to play these songs stripped down? I couldn’t be more excited. I’m excited to go out even though it’s not the way we had planned it. At the show last night, I played by myself with all of the nakedness that comes with performing that way. It made me really excited that I get to do this now for three weeks. Here’s the trade-off. I definitely feel more connected.
