“English” should be capitalized. There should be a space after the period which follows “correctly”. And the period after “it” is superfluous- the question mark would have been enough.

Because they’re American and the original English has evolved and colloquialisms been adopted. Chavs neither speak nor spell English correctly either but I prefer Americans to Chavs.

Because English didn’t have strict spelling rules until quite recently (Shakespeare spelt his name 4 different ways). So when the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for the New World they took no rules with them and it went from there. The US developed their way and we developed our way. BTW some US words are directly descended from the Pilgrim Fathers. Gotten for example – we don’t use in English now but Americans do.
