Why do alot of Native Americans hate or deny the fact that they e ancestors are actually Asian?
The Bering Strait theory has no scientific origin. It was first conceptualized in the 16th century by a Jesuit priest. Padre Jose de Acosta. The theory did not become the dominant hypothesis, until the early 20th century. In the social climate of the American ‘Manifest Destiny’, the Bering Strait theory provided a ‘scientific’ means to justify taking the land. Since the people found here were only ‘recent inhabitants it was not their ‘homeland’. In the mind of the colonizes, Native Americans were not any more the ‘original people’ of this land than they were. This was, and still is, the political power of the infamous ‘Bering Strait theory’ Even today the theory is maintained although the evidence doesn’t support it.
