Why do allot of music artist choose Baphomet as their God, what is the character of this god?
Baphomet is, properly speaking, not a god. All that we historically know of it was that it was *something* venerated by the Knights Templar. Suggestions have ranged from it being a cat to the head of St. John the Baptist and from it being a code for Sophia (ie: Wisdom) to being the devil. Because of the scary reputation surrounding Baphomet, occult writers later hijacked the concept and used it to represent their own ideas. One of these was Eliphas Levi who used it to represent an alchemical process, another was Aleister Crowley who used Baphomet to symbolise masculine sexuality. Most rock stars who use Baphomet are using Crowley’s conception hence the overt sexuality of rock music.
