A. Obviously, we can’t answer that question for the other hand sanitizer producers. But I can note that medical grade alcohol is very, very cheap to produce. And obviously, the less it costs to make a product, the more profit is gained by all who make, handle and sell that product. The fact is that alcohol is a very good sanitizing agent, though it usually has a drying effect on skin, particularly after repeated use. SafeSpace® Instant Hand Sanitizer is no more effective than any other alcohol based hand sanitizer on the market today. The difference is that SafeSpace® looked at all the other skin drying sanitizers, and then chose to make our hand sanitizer using 0.2% benzethonium chloride USP as our sanitizing agent, combined with emollients (lotion) to minimize the removal of natural moisture from the skin. The SafeSpace goal was to make an effective hand sanitizer that would not dry the skin, while also making it gentle to the user’s skin, which in turn would encourage regular saniti
