Why do all Grady degrees require four semesters-or two years-to complete?
Each fall and spring semester, Grady College accepts the maximum number of students allowed into its seven major programs. Due to limited resources and class sizes, each student is guaranteed up to two Grady classes each fall and spring semester. A Grady introductory class (JOUR 3310, ADPR 3100, TELE 3010, or ADPR 3850) may be considered one of the two classes. By taking two Grady classes each fall and spring, a student is guaranteed to graduate in four semesters, not including summers or the semester of application. Accreditation standards, classroom sizes, and limited equipment can all require that classes be capped at certain sizes. This is why Grady professors are unable to add extra students to class rolls-even if a student has met the prerequisites for his/her class.
