Why do aliens in sci-fi films and TV shows always happen to speak English?
I totally agree with Sarah, and that is one of many reasons why District 9 is the best sci fi film of the 21st Century so far – the aliens speak alien! And the film makers had the sense to have humans try and communicate with them rather than the aliens having some devise to speak English. To make matters better, District 9 is also a huge hit, proving cinema audiences – in Europe any way – are not as dumb as Hollywood would have us believe (District 9 is not Hollywood – thank god!). A fantastic film! Hopefully film makers can learn from this.
